Maxen Power Supply Limited

MHHS Customer Migration

Customer migration to
Market-wide Half-Hourly Settlement
(MHHS) is now underway at Maxen Power.

From 29 October 2026, electricity meters are being transitioned to the new settlement arrangements as part of the wider industry change. To understand how the transition will work and what it means for your business electricity supply.

MHHS Customer Migration
at Maxen Power

Market-wide Half-Hourly Settlement (MHHS) is a change to the UK electricity market, mandated by Ofgem and delivered by Elexon.

It changes how electricity consumption is settled, using half-hourly data to reflect when electricity is used. Customer migration is an industry-wide process of moving electricity meters to the new MHHS settlement arrangements.

Our team is managing the migration to ensure a smooth transition for customers. As the process will be rolled out in phases, individual electricity meters may move to the new arrangements at different times.

We will keep our customers informed of relevant developments and get in touch if any information or action is needed for their premises.

What Does MHHS Mean for Your Business?

For your business, migration is primarily a change to the industry’s settlement arrangements. The requirements for individual premises depend on the electricity meter currently installed and the arrangements applicable to that site. Two sites can therefore have different requirements, and their meters may move at different times.

The sections below explain what this means for your supply, your contract and any steps you may need to take.

How Will Customer
Migration Work?

Migration will take place in stages rather than moving every eligible meter at once. The process involves industry systems and the parties responsible for metering data and electricity settlement.

Maxen Power will coordinate the relevant activities as customer meters move to the new arrangements.

Throughout the transition, we will keep you updated. If any information or action is needed from your business, we will clearly explain what is required and guide you through the next steps.

Smart Meter Installation and
Meter Upgrades

Smart meter requirements will vary depending on your existing electricity meter and site arrangements.  If a meter-related change is needed, Maxen Power will contact you with further information about the next steps.

What You Need to Do?

For now onwards, you do not need to arrange your own MHHS migration. There are a few practical steps you can take to stay informed:

Keep your contact details up to date

so you can receive important account communications.

Check messages from Maxen Power

for information about your meter or migration arrangements.

Respond to requests when necessary

if we contact you for information or action relating to your premises.

Contact us if you need clarification

about a migration notice or meter-related requirement.

We will provide further guidance if any action is needed from your business.

Will MHHS Affect Your Electricity Supply or Contract?

MHHS migration changes how electricity consumption is settled across the market. It does not, by itself, change the physical supply of electricity to your premises.

Your existing contract remains the same. Migration alone does not automatically change your agreed contract price or require you to enter into a new contract. If you have a question about your specific agreement, please contact Maxen Power for guidance.
